Solar Farm & Restaurante “O Encalho” Moura

PV Installation Moura

On a visit to a Solar PV Panel Assembly Facility this week (in Moura) and took the opportunity to also visited the biggest Solar PV Plants in Portugal (Amareleja) (about 10km from Moura), which although I was only able to see from the outside, was actually very interested.

If you know Moura (which is deep into the Alentejo…almost Spain) it get like an oven in the summer months, when temperatures can easily hit 45º to 50º….it was 38º when I was there this week, and I am glad I don’t have to live through the 45º…

I had lunch in Amareleja, which is a quite small village…it was about 2pm, with no one on the streets at all…two hot…until you open the doors to this quite small restaurant and found the place totally full…quite amazing…if you are ever in Amareleja, Moura you may want to try the food…very typical Portuguese and really good. Rua Catarina Eufêmia, Nº 43, 7885 Amareleja. Tel: 285 983 263…PS…I am putting these details, for MY future reference… :)

What Price Renewable Energy…

Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

It’s sad that we need to have a major environmental disaster to remind us of the good things we have in our lives. Would be nice to start to understand that the cost of these kinds of “externalities” (which CNN is reporting could cost BP $3Billion) are all part of the “costs” that we need to consider when comparing against the cost of very clean Renewable Energy.

It’s ANOTHER wake up call folks…

An Electric Car we all want…

If anyone plans to give me a Christmas or Birthday present, I have added this to my 2010 wish list… :)

Who said the environment wasn’t sexy…as well…
